Roman Marble Figure of Venus Pudica - 150 AD

A Roman marble statuette of Venus Pudica (modest Venus), dating to the 1st - 2nd Century AD.

Sensitively carved from fine, white marble, depicting the goddess nude with her weight on her right leg, her left slightly forward. The left arm originally reaching across, skimming her side and resting on her inner thigh, to protect her modesty.
