An Ancient Chinese Ming Dynasty brown glazed sea-salvaged pot, dating to the 15th Century and found off the coastal waters of Vietnam.

The short pot with bulbous body, a straight, delicate lip and sat on a stub base.  Lower portion of the vessel left unglazed.  With wonderful sea encrustations throughout, testimony to its time at the ocean floor.

This vessel was sea-scatter, salvaged off the coast of Vietnam years ago.  It was probably originally part of a large export cargo, en route from China to another port.  The waters off the coast of Vietnam are home to many ancient wrecks, and seem to have been particularly treacherous for sailors of the day.

Height: 2 1/2 inches.

Diameter: 3 3/4 inches.

Condition: Unrestored.
