Indus Valley Artifacts for sale

The little known Indus Valley Culture flourished throughout large areas of modern India and Pakistan in the 3rd Millennium BC, along the Indus, a river arising from the snowy Himalayan mountains. When the snow melted in the spring, the river used to flood, providing fertile soil and the perfect conditions for civilization to develop. Public knowledge of this culture is almost non-existent in the west, largely because the major towns of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro were only discovered at the turn of the last century. However, these Bronze Age people had knowledge of town planning, sewers and sophisticated architecture long before the Greeks and Romans. Indus valley artifacts are gaining popularity on the art market as collectors start to appreciate this fascinating culture and the imaginative art that it produced.
