Celtic is a broad term that
encompasses the tribal
cultures that flourished in
central europe from the
Hallstatt period onwards
and who spoke the Celtic
language. Whilst their art
changed over the centuries it
is perhaps best known and
celebrated for the style that
developed in central Europe
at settlements like those of La
Tene on the shores of Lake
Neuchâtel.
