A rare Ancient Southeast Asian Bronze figure of Buddha, dating from the 9th Century AD.
The Buddha of beautiful style. He is shown seated in Maravijaya (position of meditation at which the Buddha achieved enlightenment) and dressed in monks garments, which fall from his left shoulder. A lotus bud arises from his Ushnisha (topknot) and he sits on a graduated base.
Height: 8 inches.
Condition: Unrestored. Wonderful Patina.
