South Arabian Alabaster Stele of a Princess - 50 AD. A South Arabian alabaster monument, commemorating a princess of the Royal Family of Barnat from the commune of dhu-Maryamat, dating to the 1st Century AD. Carved in high relief from light yellow calcite alabaster, depicting the bust of a princess, her arms folded across her chest, her hands flat, her thumbs pointing up. The inscription in Qatabanian, reading: [.](.)rm Brnṭm Mr The inscription partially preserves the name of the princess, the family name surviving intact. The only known stela for a princess of Barnat.
