Cypro-Archaic Terracotta Warrior - 750 BC

A terracotta figure of a warrior from Cyprus, dating to the Cypro-Archaic period, circa 750 – 600 BC.

The bearded figure is shown standing, his right arm folded across his chest, preparing to unsheathe a now lost sword, the left brandishing a round shield with central spike. Depicted with large round eyes and wearing a helmet with crest and prominent nose piece. Decorated in red and black.

An iconic example of Cypro-archaic art.
