Silver Drachm of King Demetrius II - 129 BC

A silver drachm issued under the Seleucid ruler King Demetrius II Nikator (The Victor). Minted at Antiochia on the Orentes, during Demetrius' 2nd reign, circa 129 - 128 BC.

The front of the coin with a fine portrait of Demetrius, with long beard, bushy hair and royal diadem.

The back shows Zeus enthroned, holding the goddess Nike in his outstretched right hand and a tall sceptre in the other.
