Silver stater from the Athenian colony of Thurium (Thourioi), South Italy, circa 443 - 400 BC.

The obverse with a beautiful head of Athena, wearing an Attic helmet decorated with a laurel wreath and horsehair crest.

The reverse with a large bull, a tuna fish swimming below. The inscription reading

ΘOYPIΩN

"Of the Thurians"
