European Bronze Age Flat Axe - 2300 BC

A large, heavy European copper alloy flat axe from Britain, dating to approximately 2300 BC.

Axes of this kind were used to clear the forests of Early Europe for human habitation. However, examples of this quality were used for religious purposes, dedicated as offerings to the gods.
